How do variable Direct Debits work?

With a variable Direct Debit, you simply pay for the energy you use. We’ll send you a quarterly statement and the bill amount will be taken out of your account within 14 days of issuing the bill.

Some people prefer this to a fixed Direct Debit as they like paying for exactly what they use. But because you’re likely to use more energy in winter, it does mean that your payment in January could be very different from your payment in June.
